WXBM Radio Station Tour

We toured WXBM, the coolest radio station in town, to learn more about the possibilities of using broadcast media to promote 4-H in our community. While there, we worked with the Production Manager, John Johnson, to develop and produce a PSA about 4-H.

WSRE Television Station Tour

We toured WSRE, a local PBS television station where we learned about how a television show is produced. We were able to go behind the scenes and learn a few secrets of the trade.

District 1 Shotgun Competition

Shotgun enthusiasts meet every other week to share an afternoon of trap. The competition is based on total scores from 6 of the 8 possible weeks of shooting. This is the first of many shooting sports events that will be taking place in District 1.

District 1 Honors National 4-H Week.

Santa Rosa County 4-Hers attended a County Commissioners Meeting September 27, 2007 to accept a proclamation for National 4-H week.

4-H Week is the first full week in October each year. This is a great time to increase awareness of 4-H.

Horseland and 4-H on Saturday Morning Cartoons

OK, so most of us aren't into Saturday morning cartoons but we may have brothers or sisters who are. And they have friends. Pretty cool way to get the word out about 4-H and horses. Who knows where this might lead.

We just returned from the second annual Southern Regional Teen Leadership Conference in Crossville, Tennessee. We learned ways that on online blog can be used to promote 4-H and increase awareness. The District Council plans to use this blog space to let you know what is going on, what's coming up and how you can fit in. Visit often so you don't miss a thing.
